Fine Point Lending is a lending marketplace. We connect business owners with third-party lenders. Our compliance policy describes the standards we hold ourselves to and the regulatory framework that governs our work.
Not a lender
Fine Point Lending is not a bank, lender, broker-dealer, or credit union. We do not make credit decisions, set rates, or fund loans.
We are a marketplace and advisor — we evaluate your business profile, match you with lending partners likely to approve and offer competitive terms, and help you compare offers. The lender, not Fine Point Lending, makes the credit decision.
Fair lending and ECOA
Our matching technology and advisory process do not consider race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age, or any other protected characteristic.
We comply with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and Regulation B in all aspects of borrower interaction. Adverse-action notices, when applicable, are provided by the lender that made the credit decision.
State licensing
Certain commercial financing products are regulated at the state level (e.g., California Commercial Financing Disclosure Law, New York Commercial Finance Disclosure Law, and similar laws in Utah, Virginia, Connecticut, Georgia, and others).
Our lending partners maintain the licenses required to operate in the states where they fund. State-mandated disclosures are delivered with each offer.
FCRA and credit pulls
Pre-qualification uses a soft credit pull only, which does not affect your credit score. Hard credit pulls are only performed after you accept a specific offer that requires one, and only with your consent.
We comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) in our handling of consumer report information.
Anti-stacking and predatory practices
We do not stack short-term advances on already-funded businesses without an explicit refinancing or consolidation rationale. We do not work with lenders who engage in undisclosed fees, deceptive marketing, or coerced collection practices.
If you believe a lender we matched you with has acted improperly, contact compliance@finepointlending.com.
